Viewing activity remains tightly bound to traditional agency operating hours, with 95% of all appointments occurring between Monday and Saturday from 9am to 6pm. Viewing volume on Sunday and weekday evenings after 6pm accounts for 4.69% of the total, with Saturday generating 11.5 times as many viewings as Sunday. But the diary has been built around when branches are open rather than when their customers can come, and perhaps that model needs to be looked at, because a handful of evening slots is the difference between four viewings and eight.”.
The busiest periods also coincide with higher cancellation rates. Appointments scheduled for 10am on Saturday record a 23% cancellation rate, the highest of any daily hour. In contrast, 7pm weekday slots and Sundays record the lowest cancellation rates at 19%.
