South African cricketer Lhuan-dre Pretorius etched his name into the history books by scoring the highest individual innings in men's Twenty20 history during a domestic CSA T20 Challenge clash in Bloemfontein.
The 20-year-old left-handed batsman produced a breathtaking display of power hitting for the Titans, blasting an unbeaten 188 off 79 deliveries against the Knights at the Mangaung Oval.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored 188 not out off 79 balls with a strike rate of 237.97, surpassing Chris Gayle's previous men's T20 world record of 175 set in the 2013 Indian Premier League. — according to BBC Sport.
A record-breaking innings
Pretorius completed his half-century off 24 deliveries before needing just 16 more balls to reach a century. He pressed onward past 150 off 58 balls, finishing his historic knock with 13 sixes and 15 boundaries.
Powered by Pretorius's explosive innings, the Titans posted a daunting total of 267-3 from their 20 overs. They then comfortably defended the total, dismissing the Knights for 143 in 17.2 overs to seal an emphatic 124-run victory.
